This past November Canadian dentist Dr. Michael Zuk spent $32,000 on a tooth John Lennon had once given to his housekeeper, combining Dr. Zuk’s love of teeth and The Beatles in one of the strangest rock memorabilia purchases of all time. The tooth will now come to it’s final resting place in a statue made by his artist sister Kristen Zuk for charity:
John Lennon gave his tooth to a fan in good spirit so I wanted to do a few things that would raise awareness of the charity Smile Train, so we are asking people that come to view the sculpture at the Kirsten’s Art Show this weekend in Edmonton to consider making a donation which helps children with cleft lip and palate.
If you want more about Dr. Zuk and the tooth he has also written a book about the tooth…aaaand recorded a song about it.
