After Rod Stewart and The Faces got banned from all Holiday Inns they started checking in as ‘Fleetwood Mac’
Rod Stewart drove around with James Corden and A$AP Rocky for some carpool karaoke this week and he talked about the “shaggin and a drinkin” with his band The Faces in their 70’s heyday. The whole video is worth watching bit this tidbit comes in at about 2:30:
One of the best places we used to party was Detroit. We were actually as The Faces banned from all Holiday Inns so we would check in as Fleetwood Mac, before Fleetwood Mac were particularly well known. And we got away with it. We would announce we were having a party back at the Holiday Inn on stage. And everybody would flock back and we’d let most of the girls in not all the men. But we’d let most of the girls in and there would be hundreds and hundreds.
