After sponsoring the coolest little team in Ohio’s West Akron Baseball League last year The Black Keys are going one step further this year. The band will help support the entire league by selling West Akron/Black Keys t-shirts starting today on TheBlackKeys.com.
From MTV:
The league will use the funds for a variety of projects, including keeping registration fees low, buying uniforms, replacing benches and backstops at several fields, and upgrading equipment like catcher’s gear and bats. The old equipment is then donated to communities in Akron that don’t have the funds to purchase new equipment for their leagues.
Though the Black Keys have graduated to playing arenas, the diamonds of the W.A.B.L. hold a special place in their hearts … after all, both Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney played in the league as kids, and they hope their T-shirts will help a whole new generation do the same.
