Lady Gaga performed at the Brooklyn Navy Yards last night as part of the release of her new album ARTPOP. The event featured new sculptures created by Jeff Koons who is also the designer of her ARTPOP album cover. Before the show she debuted the world’s first flying dress, an art piece called Volantis. From ABC:
“I wanted to make today about something even more important to me, and that something is the youth of the world,” Gaga said. “Their minds are just so boundless. They’re just so inspiring.”
“Although she is a vehicle,” she said of the dress, “she is essentially a metaphor for me. I will be a vehicle today for their voices.”
