The people have spoken and David Bowie is the best dressed person in British history. Beating out George ‘Beau’ Brummell, and even Queen Elizabeth I, Bowie took the BBC History Magazine award in a landslide. From Telegraph UK:
Nominated by designer Wayne Hemingway, 66-year-old Bowie won with 48.5 per cent of the vote, which was cast by the British public.
The magazine’s editor, Rob Attar, commented: “David Bowie has received many accolades in his glittering career, but surely none of them compare to being voted the best-dressed Briton of all time. Bowie had to overcome a king, two queens and a political heavyweight to triumph in our poll, and in doing so has struck a blow for 20th and 21st-century fashions”.
