Musician Kevin Calaba is using Kickstarter to fund his new album Saints & Fireworks. From his Kickstarter page:
In April 2010, after years of touring the country with ‘Stars of Track and Field,’ I found myself in the back of a cop car facing my third DUI charge, an impending departure from my music label and a life in need of repair.
That evening marked the beginning of a three-year introspective journey against the backdrop of New York City. I got sober. I reflected on the past. I determined what I wanted for the future. I had known many dark days and then, miraculously, more and more filled with light. I changed my life.
And, constantly, I wrote music. The music I wrote pushed and pulled itself closer to who I am, and who I was discovering myself to be. I wrote songs that I believed. I wrote songs about the fears and the hopes that live inside of me. I wrote songs to hold my questions and examine my answers. I wanted to take the content of my head and my heart and shape it into music.
