Video: Fans of The Who redeem 33 year old concert tickets for new ones
Back in 1979 many excited fans bought tickets to see The Who in Providence, RI. Unfortunately, because of a fatal stampede at a Cincinnati show two weeks earilier, Mayor Vincent A. Cianci Jr. cancelled the Providence concert. Now as The Who prepares to return to Providence, the Dunkin’ Donuts Center offered fans still in possession of a 1979 ticket stub the opportunity to exchange it for a new seat. 10 fans were able to do so, and Providence Journal was there to document it:
